Wondering what to bring?
Here is a guide to what we do and do not accept at Kid's Market:

We reserve the right to immediately DONATE items left at Receiving that are on the Non-Accepted List. We do not have the space to keep them on the floor or store them elsewhere, and gross/broken/recalled/non-functioning/inappropriate-for-children items just make the whole sale look bad. Thanks for doing your part to keep Kid's Market great!

NOTE: Minimum price for newly created tags is $1.00!

 How It Works

Step 1: Register for your consignor account and unique number through any of the "Register Now!" buttons on this page.

Step 2: Create+Print your tags from your consignor portal. Detailed tag-making and tag-attaching instructions follow below.

Step 3: Bring your prepared items to the store during the posted Receiving hours. Check in at the front of the store to activate your consignor number and receive credit for your sold items and receive direction for placing your items around the store. Eager to shop as early as possible? Priority shopping passes for the Consignor Presales are distributed starting on Saturday morning at 7a!

Step 4: Receive your commission check and deposit it with your bank. The checks will be sent via email to the email address with which you registered as a consignor.

Please help us deliver quality items for your shoppers! Kid’s Market reserves the right to refuse to place unacceptable items on the sales floor.

Tagging Instructions

Step 1: Create your tags.
- Log in to your Consignor Portal, click the Menu toward the upper left of the portal, and then select Barcode Labels/Tags.

- Once on the "Order Barcode Labels" page, you'll input your price (minimum $1.00), the number of labels at that price (10 labels fill one 8.5"x11" cardstock sheet), and whether or not you want the label to be discounted (the default is "Yes" to allow the 50% discount during the last days of the sale; be sure to print labels with "No" selected if you want any items to remain full price for the entire sale).

- For each set of barcoded labels/tags, you'll click "Submit Barcode" toward the bottom of the page, which will add your most recently input barcode selections to the barcode order list at the bottom of the page. Repeat these inputs to create whatever price points and discount statuses you want to have available for your items.

- When you are done creating tags, click "Submit Barcode Order" at the top of the list. This will process your tags into the system and take you to a confirmation screen. On the confirmation screen you can click the "Display Barcode Labels For Printing" link, which will display your created tags as a printable PDF. You can immediately print these tags if you have access to a laserjet printer and lightweight cardstock, or you can send the file to a local printing service (Alliance Digital Printing on University, Staples, Office Depot/Office Max, etc.) to have them printed. You'll also see a number corresponding to your order of tags on your consignor portal homepage, within the "Barcode Label/Tag Orders" section.

**Review our Accepted/Non-Accepted Items lists above before spending time tagging your items. There's nothing quite so much a bummer as finding out that work you put into tagging and prepping some number of items was for things that we can't accept at the sale! If you're not sure whether a particular item falls into a non-accepted category, please ask!**

Step 2: Prepare and tag your items.
- Hang your clothing items on an uncoated wire hanger, with the hook turned to look like a "?" when the front of the garment is facing you. And YES, even infant clothing can fit over an 18" wire shirt hanger - just thread the hanger up through the garment and into the arms. Wire hangers painted different colors are fine, but avoid plastic/rubber coated hangers and wire hangers with a cardboard tube along the bottom, as these (often found from dry cleaners). Pin bottoms (shorts, jeans, skirts, leggings, etc.), tops too loose to stay securely on the hanger (dresses, strappy tops, looser buttondowns, etc.), or multi-piece outfits (top+bottom, multiple onesies, shirt/skirt/shorts sets, two-piece swimsuits, etc.) through the garment(s) and around the wire of the hanger at roughly the "shoulder" bend of the hanger to keep them all together.

- For non-clothing items, double-check puzzle pieces (and indicate on your tag that they are counted/matched), test your electronic items (and note "TESTED" on the tag), connect your shoes (zip ties between lace eyelets or around straps are a good way to keep the two shoes together; rain boots could be strapped together with packing tape), bag and secure loose items to the main toy (like dishes/pretend food for play kitchens, cars for Hot Wheels garages, clothing & accessories for dolls or Build-A-Bears, and *ESPECIALLY* projectiles for NERF guns/disc shooters/ball poppers/similar shooting toys to prevent these from being scattered around the toy area), etc.

- Fill in the information on your tag to indicate the size/gender/style/description which corresponds to the item, i.e.:
  1. Infant sizes are by months, not pounds. (i.e. G 6-9mo., B 12-18mo.)
  2. Children sizes require the size as a number, not the letter designations S, M, L, XL, etc. (i.e. G 6X, B 4T)
  3. Juniors and Maternity items may be sized by number or letter, depending on the tag on the item (i.e. Jrs 8, Mat M)
  4. Young Men's sizes are by letter (i.e. YM L) or waist/waist+inseam for shorts and pants (i.e. YM 28, YM 36x30)
For non-clothing items, tags could be filled out with descriptions like these: Build-A-Bear leopard w/ accessories; Step2 play kitchen with dishes, utensils, and play food; Our Generation 18" doll w/ two outfits; G-4.5 gold Carters sandals; B-7 blue and green rain boots; ergobaby tan Ergo360 baby carrier; etc.

DO NOT BRING US ITEMS WITH BLANK TAGS! Blank tags are no help to you if the tag gets separated from its item. The more descriptive your notes, the better chance we have of matching a lost tag back to its item if they are separated during the sale!

- Mark some or all of your tags with a letter "D" to indicate that the specific item with that tag may be donated if it does not sell. You are welcome to mark just a few items with a "D" or every single item if you never want them back in your house once you finally get them out your door! TIP: If you are one of our sellers that usually decides to donate all of your items that don't sell, use a PDF editing tool to pre-type a "D" on your tag template, so that when you print them, the "D" is already there, giving you one less thing to write as you prep your tags.

- Secure completed tags to clothing with a safety pin, pinned twice horizontally through the upper part of the tag around the left lapel area or left pocket area on a pair of shorts or pants. Attach tags to non-clothing items via clear packing tape to hard/smooth items (books, plastic toys, high chairs, etc.), with safety pins for fabric items (Build-A-Bear, Squishmallows, nap mats, bedding set, cloth diapers, backpacks, etc.), or via twine or a zip tie after reinforcing with packing tape to shoes, diaper bags, etc.

Step 3: Bring prepared, tagged items to Receiving days.
- Mark our receiving dates on your calendar. We typically have one appointment-only receiving day (good if you have *LOTS* of items to drop off, or have large/bulky items you want to get on the floor before things fill up, or you don't have high-priority shopping to do and so you don't need an early presale shopping pass) and one or more open receiving days ("open" meaning open to anyone registered for the sale with tagged items to drop off, first come, first served, no appointment necessary).
- Check in when you arrive so your consignor number will be activated to sell items. If you are dropping off for a family memeber or friend, be sure to provide each consignor number that you need to check in.
- Distribute items around the sales floor based on signage and organization, i.e. girls' size 3 clothing in the girls' clothing section marked for size 3, *NOT* size 3T or size 3mo or size 4T. If you are sending your items with someone else to receiving (especially a non-consignor), be sure to inform them about this step. We'll be available to direct and assist, but will not have the extra hands available to put every item coming in the door where it goes!

Step 4: Share, share, share - Sell, sell, sell!
- Share posts and info about Kid's Market with your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and anyone else with kids! The more folks that know about Kid's Market, the more will find great deals on clothing, shoes, toys, and gear for their children, and the more chance your items have of selling!

Step 5: Pick up your remaining items *OR* tell us you want any remaining items you have to be donated.
- Mark our pickup day on your calendar - this is your one opportunity to pick up any unsold items that are sorted out back to your consignor number after the end of the sale! You may send a proxy to pick up on your behalf, but it is a great help to them (and us) if you give them an idea of what to look for, i.e. "I only brought clothes in, so just check the rack for my consignor number," or "I brought a crib that didn't sell, so be sure to have a vehicle that it can fit in," etc.
- Mark some or all of your tags with a clear "D" to indicate that the specific item with that tag may be donated if it does not sell.

Step 6: Deposit your commission check!
- Your earned commissions (2/3 of the price at which your items sold, less your $10 registration fee) will be issued to you via a digital check, provided through Deluxe eChecks. This check may be printed and presented to your bank just like a regular check for deposit.
